I awoke to the new day
And there he was in my mind
The man who showed me the way
To show respect and be kind.

He was there from my birth
He was my Dad, my teacher
He taught me what life was worth
To move forward and reach her

He brought music to my ears
My life sailed with music played
And still has for many years
For so very long it has stayed

He died on this day years ago
And I say to him thank you Dad.
